24-25 School Year Should be Our Best Year Yet!

Some exciting things are happening this coming school year. We will be offering a healthcare pathway for the first time, and the classes will be for dual credit so students can begin working on their college credits in health professions. We're also working on getting another science teacher CTE endorsed in Natural Resources so she can teach some agriculture classes.

There will be a lot of new faces in the district this year as well. In first grade, Jessica Dice is coming over from Mountain Home School District. Kala Tolman will be teaching in Howe Elementary. At the MS/HS, Charlotte Wells is teaching MS Social Studies, Ruben Peralta is teaching Special Education, and Todd Jensen is teaching PE. A couple of other changes moves Gretchen Simpson from MS to HS to teach social studies and government, and Shannon Carter will move down to teach elementary PE with some MS/HS classes.

The district is also applying for another CTE grant to do some work in the welding shop and build out some other CTE programs. I also hope to request some funding to help pay for building a CTE wing to house these classes.

I am excited for the opportunities our students will have this year. We're also implementing some instructional changes through differentiated instruction and accountability through the Four Disciplines of Execution. Both should improve student learning and give students the specific help they need to achieve. I am looking forward to 24-25!
